Seems like these outfits are being renamed and two come up as possibly next months specials.
Here are what came out as Summer-fun outfits:
Kit's Reds Fan Outfit
Addy's Kite-Flying Outfit
Kirsten's Midsummer Outfit
Molly's Dude Ranch Outfit & Emroidered Boots
Samantha's Lawn Party Outfit and Party Shoes and Socks
Now I know Kit did not have a book attachment to this outfit only that she was a Cincinnati Reds fan.
Just thought this may help some new collectors, these were NEW in early 2004

I know this has been mentioned several times before, but Kit's Red fans outfit always comes up on the sale page search because it says "for sale only in the U.S." in the description. It's never been on sale, I don't think.
So, I think that means it's safe from retirement for now. [img]smile.gif[/img]
tngirl03, we are guessing that Kit's Red's Fan outfit will be on special next month based on searching for "monthly" on the AG website. The other outfit is Kirsten's Midsummer outfit.

My girls have been hooked on their new Nancy Drew game so our computer is tied up all day.
Jamie,the summer-fun outfits were introduced in the Spring '04 cataloge and when you do a search under "monthly specials" that one (Kit's)is listed and Kirsten's Summer-fun outfit. We'll just have to see, but then Kit's Christmas outfit didn't become a monthly special till we were into December and historical outfits rarely come up on special.
I just mentioned the Summer-fun outfits because of all the changes mentioned lately. Do grab the Tree House outfit and the Reds Fan outfit if you can, if any of Kit's go/change,these would mostly likely be the ones.

Another thing, I've always known these outfits to be refered to as "Summer-fun outfits".
The '04 cataloge states:
"Celebrate summer! Just like you, American girls long ago loved summer--a time to do their favorite things".

It's nice for speculation and noticing trends. It was a smart thing to start doing. I wish I'd thought of it.

My younger DD is interested in Kit, and I want to make sure I don't miss anything important in her collection. (It will probably be a year or so before I am ready to get Kit for my DD, and I am afraid things will retire.)
Can you explain what you mean by "came out as Summer-fun outfits"? Do you mean they came out in early 2004 under this category? Or they have come out again and been renamed? Is there anything I should buy now??

If you are concerned about missing any Kit outfits for your daughter I would definitely get Kit's Tree House Outfit or Kit's Reds Fan Outfit. Kit's Tree House Outfit used to come with a short story book Kit's Tree House, which is no longer available. Since the short story book is gone, the outfit will probably be retired soon. Kit's Reds Fan Outfit will probably be around for another year, it has only been out for a year.
